Terms and conditions
Last updated 13 October 2026
These terms apply when you order takeaway from us (Part A) or book us to cater an event (Part B). Part C applies to both. They do not affect your statutory rights.
About us
We are The Pompiere Pizza Co Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 10305009, registered office 15 Northfield Close, South Cave, East Riding of Yorkshire, HU15 2EW. You can contact us at enquiries@pompierepizzaco.com.
Part A: Takeaway orders
Your order
Your order is accepted once we have taken payment and sent your confirmation. If we run out of an ingredient, we will contact you to offer a suitable substitute. If you would rather not have it, or we cannot make your order at all, we will refund you for what we cannot provide.
Prices and payment
Prices are as shown on the menu and at checkout, in pounds sterling. Delivery charges and any minimum order are shown before you pay. Payment is taken in full when you order, online or by phone.
Collection
Please collect at the time you were given. Pizza is best straight from the oven, so we cannot keep it hot for long. Orders not collected by the end of service are not refunded.
Delivery
We deliver to the areas we can reach while the food is still at its best, checked by postcode. The arrival time we give is our best estimate and can be affected by traffic, weather and other orders. Please make sure someone is available to answer the door. If we cannot hand the order over after reasonable attempts to reach you, we cannot offer a refund.
Changing or cancelling
Because our food is made fresh to order and is perishable, the usual 14-day right to cancel online purchases does not apply to it. If you need to change or cancel, contact us as soon as possible: if we have not started making your order, we will refund you.
If something is wrong
If anything is wrong with your order, please tell us the same day, with a photo if you can, and we will put it right with a replacement, a credit or a refund.
Allergies
Please tell us about any allergy when you order. Our menu shows the allergens in each dish (see allergy information). We prepare everything in one compact mobile kitchen, and although we take care to keep ingredients apart, we cannot guarantee that any dish is completely free from traces of allergens used elsewhere in our kitchen.
Part B: Event catering
Quotes
Our quote is based on the details you give us: the date, guest numbers, venue, service times and menu. If those change, the price may change. Our published prices and minimum numbers are a guide; we may depart from them at our discretion. The price we confirm to you in writing is the one that applies.
Booking and deposit
Your date is secured only once we have received a deposit of 25% of the quoted price. For weddings and other events priced on a minimum number of guests, the deposit is 25% of the price for that minimum. Bookings made less than four weeks before the event are paid in full when booked. The deposit is non-refundable, except as set out under “If we have to cancel” below.
Confirming the details
We will confirm the final details with you no later than eight weeks before a wedding, or four weeks before any other event: menu choices, dietary requirements, number of guests, the venue and the service times. We then agree a plan for the day and send a final invoice, which is due one week before the event.
Postponing
If you need to move your event to another date, we will do our best to accommodate it and normally do not charge for this. If we cannot do the new date, the booking will be treated as cancelled.
If you cancel
If you cancel, we keep the following, which reflects the costs we cannot recover and the lost chance to take another booking for your date:
| When you cancel | What we keep |
|---|---|
| More than 8 weeks before the event | The deposit |
| Between 4 and 8 weeks before | 50% of the booking value (the deposit counts towards this) |
| Less than 4 weeks before | 100% of the booking value |
The booking value is the quoted price based on your confirmed guest numbers, or the minimum number where that applies. Please cancel in writing by email.
If we have to cancel
If something outside your control means we cannot cater your event, for example our van or oven breaking down beyond repair in time, we will tell you as soon as possible and refund everything you have paid us, including the deposit.
On the day
We allow a service window of 30 minutes for every 20 pizzas, or part of 20. If guests have not taken the pizzas we have made by the end of that window, we may end the service. More time can be arranged beforehand and will be added to the price.
We bring a small number of extra pizzas, up to 10% over the agreed number, to allow for any mistakes and in case you would like more on the day. We only serve extra pizzas with your agreement, and any you ask for are paid for on the day by card.
Please make sure the venue is happy for us to trade there and that our van can reach the agreed spot. We will check the practical details with you when we plan the day.
Part C: For everyone
How we treat our team
We have zero tolerance for abuse of our staff, whether verbal or physical. We may refuse service to anyone who is abusive. In serious cases at an event, we will stop service and leave, and no refund will be due.
Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
Your information
How we use your personal information is explained in our privacy policy.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
